Tall are the green trees - no visuals - just letting the poem speak for itself

Tall are the green trees
that look down on us
together close with heat
and wisdom with nervous

gestures and pure smiles
with laughter breaking
through the hesitating
quiet and obscured meaning

implied in the stammered
words and at times like this
the happiness and excitement
coincide to induce the memory

of a child, me, excited
and jumping and dancing
and lighter than all the dense
heaviness of experience

that seems to age us all
beyond our youth and
beyond the place we were
before we were born

"no place" -- my first blog post in more than a year, drawn from an experience almost exactly four years ago
