I went dozing in a field of sorghum and briars

I went dozing in a field of sorghum
and briars as various summer insects buzzed
within hearing and being breathed in
and the sun was burning light on my face and chest
and clouds of nearby wild fragrance lifted me
above the tall grasses and I went floating
just above the ground
my guess is I was powered by the sun
and the sun was magnetic light
and this light carried me afloat
around at a height no higher
than my own height
faced upwards toward the hot magnetic sun
source of this omnipotent tractor beam
and always I ask myself and
expect an answer in a dialogue,
“Am I able to resist?”

"so much things to say" - just finished this - took me about ten minutes to write - I wanted to break away from the highly structured dense weight of my last poem and write something loose and free, and a bit ironic - the first two and a half lines come from the wonderful Bob Marley song, "So Much Things To Say"

"no place" -- my first blog post in more than a year, drawn from an experience almost exactly four years ago
